We Are Open!

Our opening day was yesterday, the 10th. We had a fantastic day, lots of customers coming in and mentioning that they have been following our progress on Facebook which is really lovely. Everyone has been so supportive and kind about our new little shop.

We'll be sharing lots of photo's of the shop and the fantastic handmade stock over the next few weeks.

Our Grand Opening!

We are so excited that our shop will be opening soon!

We're having  our grand opening on the 10th September, we'll be open from 10am - 6:30pm. There will be a beautiful selection of handmade cake pops for sale from the lovely Delish, as well as free tea and homemade lemonade for you to enjoy!

The first 15 people will receive a goodie bag of lovely bits and bobs!!!

We'd love it if you could spread the word and support our new little shop,  pop down for tea and a chat and have a browse of the wonderful handmade goodies we will have on offer.

Making Progress

We're getting there with the shop now!

We've scrubbed the floor, painted the walls, polished furniture, bought flyers and decorated our counter. This week we'll be putting up shelves and sourcing extra bits of furniture and props!

The Shop So Far

We've had the keys for our new shop for a couple of days now, on Saturday we managed to fill the tiny space with vintage furniture we'd bought the day before... 

We've also started painting over all the horrible black skirting boards which is already making the space feel much bigger and lighter!

We are sooo excited about getting it all done up and starting to fill it with beautiful handmade loveliness!

Exciting News!

We've been working on a snazzy new project which we can now finally share with you!

We are opening our own bricks and mortar, real life, actual shop!

We signed the contract last week and are nearly ready to start moving in and decorating, as well as contacting suppliers etc. We are both sooo excited! It's something we've wanted to do for a long time and it's lovely to see it finally happening.

Our shop will be called Bird In Borrowed Feathers, same as the blog and our current vintage fabric shop. We'll be stocking a beautiful selection of handmade products from local and national designers as well as a tiny selection of carefully chosen vintage home wares.

The shop is not big, in fact, it's tiny! But it's a good place to start and will be easy to maintain, decorate and stock as a new shop.

So from now on, we will be sharing our progress with the shop here on the blog as well as over on our Facebook page and Twitter. So follow us to get all the sneak peeks as we start decorating and furnishing our little shop!

To start with, here's a quick pic of the outside of the shop. (I took it on my phone, so it's not amazing) We think it has a lot of potential! The shutter on the right does open, so we'll have lots of windows and light which is nice.
