We Are Closed!

A great big thank you to everyone who has supported and shopped at our little shop since we opened last September!

We are now closed, but we have had a fantastic time running the shop and stocking a huge range of beautiful handmade products.

We are really excited about continuing our new venture along with Handmade Nottingham! Our Summer Market was a great success and we are now planning our next market which will be a Christmas Market later in the year.

We hope you can continue to support us as we make the move into our new venture. Please do pop over to our new Facebook Page and give it a quick like!

Bird In Borrowed Feathers Market

WOW! We are so excited to be finally sharing with you a project we have been working on for a while now.

We are collaborating with the wonderful Handmade Nottingham to organise a range of markets to showcase the very best in local design talent! Both us and Handmade Nottingham are passionate about promoting and supporting local makers, designers and crafters as well as other small independent businesses.

Our markets will have a fab mix of handmade, vintage and locally produced food. We'll also be hosting a selection of workshops, some run by us and some organised by local designers and makers willing to share their skills!

Our very first event will be a 3 day market in July!! Applications are now open for the event, so please email us if you are interested in taking part, whether as a stall holder or a workshop host.

Pop over to our new Facebook Page to keep up to date!

It's Nice To Make

For a while I've (Hannah) been doing a lot of design work and not much making, which is a shame as I love to make and sew. Since Christmas I've been working on new illustrations to turn into cards, prints, jewellery and tote bags. Some of these have already been made and are for sale in the shop, but others I'm still working on.

Real Men Have Great Beards Card - Hannah Stevens

In the past few months, I've been working in the shop, squashed behind the counter, designing and making tote bags. This month, I moved all my stuff out and back into my little home studio.

We now have more space in the shop to work on other things! We recently bought a badge maker, which is great fun. I've also been making up some zip pouches from our vintage fabric collection. It feels really nice to be properly making and sewing again.

These zip pouches are all ready to be photographed and listed onto our Etsy shop, which if you haven't seen, you should! It's full of badges made from vintage fabric and old books, there are also a few vintage fabric fat quarters too, we'll be adding more soon though.
